Koppert machines has developed a spring onion processing line upon request from domestic and foreign customers. Due to the currently high food safety requirements, a full washing and peeling processing line for onions is a must. After the onions are mechanically harvested, the onions are horizontally brought into the machine. The machine rotates the onions perpendicularly; the outermost leaves are sprayed loose using high pressure nozzles with water and air after which the leaves are pealed off. After this, the roots are washed and cut from 5 to 8 mm. The lengths are then cut to the desired length. After the manual quality check is conducted, the bunches can be mechanically tied. The onion processing line can be delivered in different versions.
The frame of the machine is made entirely of stainless steel. The machine is maintenance-free due to this. The machine is made as per the requirements imposed by the ARBO [Dutch Safety, Health & Welfare Service Act], ISO 9001 and EC.
This machine is built in modules, so that every set-up is possible depending on the capacity. Total design and development in collaboration with end users.
